A satire writer from Swansea has opened his laptop up, had a look around the internet and decided to take the morning off.
Writer Pete Bowen had grand hopes of knocking up a satirical story or two, then noticed everyone was already busy trying to get a cheap laugh for April Fools’ Day.
Pete said: “I was feeling quite motivated, it’s hard work spending 10 minutes writing up fictitious stories every day and sometimes I just don’t have the energy for it.
“Personally I think it’s disgusting that people are pulling pranks, a prank is a form of lying in my book and I can’t stand people who bend the truth for comedic gain.
“So I’m just going to sit here and speak to my family, which should be interesting as it’s been a while.”
Pete’s wife Theresa added: “I told him I wanted a divorce this morning, he thought it was an April Fools. It wasn’t.
“All he does is sit there on his phone or laptop chuckling to himself like an immature prick while writing something, I don’t know what he’s doing but I’ve had enough.”
