A nice family from Gower had to endure the taxi queue outside Tesco Swansea Marina this morning, it has emerged.
The Gray’s from Reynoldston made a rare excursion into the city centre, so that daughter Millie could subversively mock architecture and take photographs of people in Sports Direct for a school project.
Mum Mary said: “We live in a barn conversion and we obviously have a Land Rover Defender. It’s great for highlighting that we live in an expensive house in the country, but it doesn’t work very well.
“We broke down on this ghastly road with barber shops, takeaways and neon lights. We held an impromptu family meeting and we all agreed we had to stick together because the area was a bit ‘urban’.”
Dad Rob added: “I thought if we could make it to Tesco we’d be safe, perhaps we’d find another Land Rover to gravitate to or a taxi that could get us to safety.
“We found a queue of people who were being herded into white Skoda Octavia’s and I deduced this must be the taxi queue. It was astonishing.
“We huddled closely together and I did my best to protect Millie, but people were swearing, eating sausage rolls straight from the packet and drinking Tesco own brand beverages. I think I saw someone’s anus.”
Millie said: “It was so cool! I met a guy who was smoking a rolly and drinking something called Monster.
“We’ve kept in touch and he’s promised to pick me up in his Mum’s Dacia and ‘take me up the shitter’. I don’t know where that is but the whole thing is very Jack and Rose from Titanic.”
