An ant has been found murdered in a toy room in Pontardawe.
Ant Theresa Bowen is said to have lived a long fulfilling life, before being squashed by a toddler in an unprovoked attack aged three months.
Ant Queen Cheryl Gray said: “Theresa was a good worker and she’ll be sorely missed.
“I don’t know what she was doing nestled between Peppa Pig and the Duplo, but there was a bogey there so we think she may have thought it was food.
“She was about to be promoted to line supervisor and had won employee of the month, we were going to fly in one of the males to do a strip show for her as a reward.”
The toddlers Mum said: “Millie just came into the kitchen and said ‘ant Mummy. Ant.’
“I followed her into her toy room to have a look, perhaps drop in some facts about how strong ants are and how working as a team was important, then she got her finger, laughed and squashed it.
“It was pretty undignified, not helped by me as I broke it up into little bits with the dustpan and brush.”
Millie added: “Spider Mummy.”
