A man from the Hafod reckons he’s Italian because he has a distant relative who was born in Italy.

34 year old Pete Bowen is profoundly proud of his heritage and loves to tell people all about his Italian roots.

Pete said: “If I’m not walking around in an Italian football shirt from Italia ’90 I’m whipping up some spaghetti.

“People love my Italian ways, although it’s become a little frosty since Brexit. But like they say in the old country, ‘fuck it like’.

“Whenever I go to the bookies I always say ‘ciao bella’ to the piece behind the counter. I don’t think she speaks Italian but she’s obviously turned on whenever I say it because her facial expression makes her look like she’s climaxing.

“I had a Great Great Grandmother who was born in Italy but left before she turned one. She’s always instilled her Italian-ness in me and reinforced the strong link between Italy and Swansea.

“Lots of people think it was Mussolini, it was actually ‘Musholini’ because he was a mush who ran a chip shop in Caereithin.”

Pete’s girlfriend Theresa Connell said: “I don’t get why he thinks he’s Italian, whenever Gino D’acampo comes on This Morning he just sits there in Lambretta boxer shorts and says ‘si, si’.

“He’ll tell you he’s an Italian stallion, but I can tell you that ‘performance’ wise he’s very Hafod.”
