A vegan couple from Upper Killay are pretty sure their house won’t be egged tonight, because the fruit they have to give out is more organic than last year’s.
Idealistic and childless couple Pete Bowen and Theresa Connell, 29, took some time to reflect after yoga yesterday and agreed they’d be disappointed with Tesco own brand blueberries too and vowed to make more of an effort this year.
Pete said: “We haven’t really recovered from the fact they pelted eggs at our house last year and not tofu, but we’ve had twelve months of careful reflection and many hours of meditating on it and we recognise we’re the ones to blame.”
Theresa said: “Pete’s right, we should’ve realised that 11 year olds are a lot more aware of where their fruit comes from nowadays.
“You know how it is, Halloween can be such a rush and last year, like most people, we ate all the yummy plant based treats before they came because they’re so damned delicious.
“We had a salivating bag of sunflower seeds all lined up for the best dressed, but I ate them all after too many herbal teas and ethically sourced weed”.
Pete said: “It was a real 6pm rush down to the Supermarket last year, luckily they must’ve had extra stock brought in to cope with last minute shoppers, because there was loads there.
“Unfortunately it was all battery farmed fruit though, so we were inevitably punished.”
Theresa continued: “Pete’s so right, again. Love you.
“Anyway, it’s been plan, plan, plan this year and we’ve made a concerted effort to buy organic fruit, nuts and seeds to treat all of the little rays of sunshine who knock on our door.
“I did all the planning on my MacBook Pro too so that £2k investment is also starting to pay off. It’s all so fucking positive.”
Pete added: “So no one thinks we’re a pushover there’s still rules.
“If you’re dressed as a superhero or a princess you can piss off because you’re not scary. And stay out of my drug shed.”
