A group of eight women had lunch in La Parilla yesterday without being really loud and disrespectful, it has emerged.
The outrageously unusual behaviour from the group left fellow diners utterly bemused, with one customer of the popular restaurant calling the manager over to complain.
Customer Theresa Connell said: “It was weird. They had the tans, the outlandish outfits and they were even cultured enough to know about wine – you know, when the waiter asks what wine you want and you say ‘the red one’.
“I was with six of my friends and we were being normal, like really loud, over accentuating our cackling laughter and swearing in front of families.
“One man came over and thanked us for normalising their visit to the restaurant.”
Waiter Pete Bowen said: “When I saw them arrive I was excited about serving another group of raucous of women who make sexual innuendos and pretend to want to eat Spanish food, but then end up settling for fish and chips.
“They kept using terms like ‘please’ and ‘thank you’, making eye contact with me and experimenting with different things on the menu. It was all very unsettling.”
Group member Cheryl Gray said: “It was all a ploy, we are of course loud and self-centred.
“Trouble is we’re all skint so we thought by acting up in the way we did we’d get kicked out without having to pay.
“I’m pleased to say it worked! Pay day next weekend though, dickheads.”
