A woman who’s recently redecorated, is using her ‘look at my Christmas tree’ picture as an opportunity to show off how fabulous her lounge looks now.
32 year old Theresa Connell from Gorseinon, who created a new floral wallpapered feature wall with a moody black and white picture of a New York taxi, seized the opportunity to showcase her hard work by tucking a small and insignificant pre lit Tesco tree in the corner.
Theresa said: “I really wanted to smugly post pictures about how much nicer my lounge is than yours, but I couldn’t find the right caption to go along with the pictures that wouldn’t make me sound boastful.
“Showing off on social media about how better your life is than other people’s is what Christmas is all about, so I nestled a little fibre optic tree next to my new velvet stick lamp from Next and took 30 pictures for Facebook.
“I called the album ‘it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’, so it’s message is predictable but the content is very much about looking at how amazing my living space is.”
Theresa’s boyfriend Rob Gray said: “We have such a miserable life together so it’s nice for Theresa to be able to pretend we’re all ‘happy and festive’, but I am upset that my lazy boy was moved out of the pictures.
“I had to plant expensive jewellery around the room and lots of other expensive things that are normally only brought out for when we have special guests, but ‘quiet life quiet never to be my wife’ and all that.”
Local thief Pete Bowen added: “It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
“I’ll be in there admiring their new DFS Chesterfield sofa when I rob their TV next week.”
