The eagerly awaited Bounty list of ‘most popular baby names of the year’ has been released, with interesting results for Swansea.
Analysis of the list has found that names which have car brands in them, typically double-barrelled, have increased by Peugeot 306% across the City.
Mum Theresa Connell said: “I gave birth to Rihanna-Golf GTI Connell this year.
“We struggled with choosing the name but the growth in popularity of the car theme was quite interesting.
“We went for a Golf GTI because they’re fast and finish quickly, which is how I describe sex with my boyfriend who may or may not be the father.”
New Dad Pete Bowen said: “Frankie-Mercedes-on-Finance was a very apt name for our son when he came along, because I have a zero hours contract but can get finance for a Mercedes.
“And I did get finance on a new Mercedes to celebrate after he was born. So I look rich but we can’t really afford a cot.
“Still, he’s Mercedes for life now and that’s all he’ll ever need.”
Parents Rob and Cheryl Gray added: “We went for Kian-Kia Gray because we’d like to have a BMW X5 but can only stretch to a Sportage.
“We’re planning another baby already but we won’t love it as much as the first so we’ll probably that one Second-Hand-Sally.”
