A Gendros woman will be spending the day running away from all of her problems for charity.
34 year old Theresa Connell will be completing the sponsored ‘responsibility hide and seek’ all day, hoping that raising money for good causes will provide her with some sort of justification to hide away and do nothing.
Theresa said: “I’m going to start the day by not doing the spreadsheet I had to do in work and walking aimlessly around the office avoiding eye contact with everyone.
“Then when my phone rings, which will probably be a call from a company I owe money to, I’ll just turn it on silent and ignore. As it’s a special cause I may just put the phone on flight mode.
“I’m supposed to be going to La Parilla tonight for my best friend’s birthday, but I hate talking to people and having to explain what job I do, when I don’t really understand it myself. So instead I’m going to let everyone down, stay in and not do the washing up.”
Theresa’s friend Pete Bowen said: “Theresa asked me to sponsor her, but she’s doing the same today as what she does every day. Surely the point is you do something different?”
Theresa added: “Its nice to do something I’m good at to raise money for charity.
“I’m not sure how many calories I burn running away from my problems. I was supposed to go and have my blood pressure and weight checked by the doctor, but I didn’t bother.”
