A couple from Port Tennant are bracing themselves for their weekly discussion about plans for the weekend.

Pete Bowen and Theresa Connell welcomed baby Frankie into their lives 5 months ago, signalling the end of their social life and lazy weekend mornings.

Dad Pete said: “The worst part of the weekend is having to pretend like we’re going to be able to do something.

“The baby has no respect for the weekend, we’re up all night long, which is similar to weekends back in the day but back then I’d be right off my pickle.”

Theresa said: “Pete asked me what we should do today, I nearly said bit of shopping, some lunch and wine but then I remembered ‘it’. So I snapped at Pete instead which actually made me feel a bit better about myself.

“What I really want to do is sleep, maybe give my nipples a break and not try to get shit stains out of baby grows. Is that too much to ask?”

Pete added: “I think when Theresa rolled her eyes and told me ‘this is all your fault, just shut the f**k up’ it brought the conversation to a swift close for another week.

“I’ve nominated myself to take the baby for a walk later where I’ll walk by local pubs and just stare longingly through the window at all the people enjoying themselves.”
