A couple who are due to have a baby in 4 months have revealed to friends and family that they’ll be giving birth to a mush.
Manselton couple Pete Bowen and Theresa Connell held the event last night, bursting a large balloon to make the reveal to excited attendees.
Pete said: “This is our first baby and we wanted to make this special. Theresa has seen some of these gender reveals on Instagram so we thought we’d give it a go.
“Everyone was very surprised when we burst the big balloon. Usually it contains blue or pink confetti of course, but ours had stolen hub caps, a set of knuckle dusters and half a packet of Rizlas.”
Theresa said: “Everyone was really surprised when they saw we were going to be having a mush.
“I kind of wanted to have a girl that I could dress up in tutus and call a princess and a diva. Pete wanted a boy so that he’d have someone to go drinking with in 13 years.
“When all’s said and done, we just want a baby who’ll be happy doing whatever they’re doing. Whether it’s stealing their headteachers car when they’re in school, or doing a runner from the taxi that drops them off at their drug dealers, if they’re happy then we’ll know we’ve done our job.”
Pete added: “It’s a shame our baby will lie to the police a lot and cause disruption in the local community. But you know what they say, mushes will be mushes.”
