Bars in Wind Street are bracing themselves for difficult trading conditions following the departure of former Swansea City striker Oli McBurnie.

Scottish talisman McBurnie netted 22 goals for the Swans last season, but despite his impact at the Liberty, he’ll be mainly missed by pubs and clubs in the city centre.

Bar manager Pete Bowen said: “Oli leaving the Swans is our Brexit.

“Sure it’s just one person, but that guy went to Seshlehem whenever he was out. We’ve already had to lay off four bouncers whose only function was to keep Oli under control.

“With the PPI industry shutting down at the end of August we’re also going to be losing the Grey Goose buying bellends who think they’re relevant.”

Pub goer Theresa Connell added: “Another footballer for me to bag bites the dust.

“My lips could probably do with a collagen break anyway to be honest.”
