A single mother who works full time but is forced to use food banks and claim benefits to feed herself and her child, has been applauded for her put downs of the Tory Party.
Mum of one Theresa Connell, 27 and from Llangyfelach, made the comments on Facebook after watching a degrading episode of ‘The Conservative Party Conference’.
Theresa said: “I don’t want to be on benefits like the majority of people suffering from in work poverty due to Tory policies. But the large company I work for has received tax cuts and haven’t given me a pay rise for five years.
“It wouldn’t be so bad if housing was better managed, but rent and cost of living in general have rocketed.
“I guess I just lose it when I see degenerate Tories on TV who’ve never had to fight for anything due to privilege, pretending to be on my side and lying.”
In a series of posts, Theresa said:
“The Tory Party Conference…anyone else watching this?? Wow, these people are unreal!!!”
“My blood is boiling, these people need to be removed. If you have half a mind to vote Tory, don’t worry, that’s all you need!”
“How many Tories does it take to change a lightbulb? None, they prefer to stay in the dark.”
Theresa’s Facebook friend Pete Bowen said: “Given that Tories have decimated public services and put people through massive indignities over the last 10 years and are now asking us to judge them on their future plans and not the past misery they’ve caused, Theresa’s put downs have had a round of applause from me.
“Unfortunately evidenced Tory failures on housing, employment, education, welfare, austerity – which it turns out we didn’t need at all and society in general have impacted all of us who haven’t benefitted from having rich parents.”
Theresa added: “I’d say my comments were off the cuff but you don’t just make off the cuff comments like that, they’re of course a reflection of my true views of Tories.”
